Swisher Strikeout Tracker: Holding Steady at One

There are still 15 active major league pitchers who have less strikeouts to their credit than Yankees outfielder/first baseman/bullpen phenom Nick Swisher (i.e., 0). Some recognizable names on that list include Doug Brocail, David Riske and Alan Embree. 25 players are tied with Swisher with one K.

Since Swisher is a switch hitter, shouldn’t he be a switch pitcher too? Shouldn’t he be able to throw from the right or left, depending on the handedness of the batter? Why hasn’t this switch pitcher thing ever happened?
